No. For most documents, such as acknowledgments and jurats, you must sign in front of the notary. Leave the signature lines blank until your appointment.
Can a notary give legal advice or prepare my documents?
No. A California notary public who is not an attorney cannot give legal advice or prepare legal documents. We verify identity and witness signatures; please consult an attorney for legal questions.
